Webinar: AI-Assisted Automated Acquisition Control for Atom Probe Tomography

Friday, August 28, 2026

Automation is transforming the way atom probe tomography (APT) experiments are conducted. By streamlining acquisition workflows, researchers can improve specimen yield, accelerate time-to-knowledge, and unlock larger, more ambitious experimental studies.

In this webinar, Dr. Katherine Rice demonstrates how commercially available generative AI tools can be used to simplify the development and customization of APT acquisition scripts within CAMECA's AP Suite software. Traditionally, implementing advanced automation strategies often required significant programming expertise. AI-assisted code generation now offers a more accessible approach, enabling users to create and modify sophisticated acquisition workflows with reduced coding effort.

Through practical case studies, Dr. Rice will illustrate how AI can support advanced designs of experiments, optimize acquisition parameters, and improve specimen yield, particularly when analyzing challenging interfaces. These examples showcase how researchers can leverage automation to increase efficiency and focus more time on scientific interpretation rather than software development. Dr. Rice will be joined by Lead Developer Gard Groth for the live Q&A session immediately following the webinar.
