Biological impact of metallic nanoparticles

SIMS, metallic nanoparticles
Investigating biological impact of inhalation exposure to metallic nanoparticles

As part of an experimental study on the biological impact of inhalation exposures, we studied the distribution of metal particles in rodent upper airways and lungs. Single Ion Mass Spectrometry microscopy was used to detect these particles in situ after repeated inhalation of a polydisperse aerosol. Results are presented on microphotographs of olfactory epithelium and lung sections.
