The CAMECA SX 100 allows quantitative analysis of µm-sized areas. It also allows the analysis of large areas: here, the images are acquired by scanning the sample stage rather than the electron beam. This ensures the analysis of areas of several square centimeters while keeping the best electron beam focus and analyzer resolution/ transmission.
