From its inception in 1929, CAMECA has been renowned for its precision mechanics, optics and electronics. The company provides in-Fab and near-Fab Metrology Equipment for the worldwide semiconductor, based on LEXES, SIMS and TXRF analytical techniques*.
CAMECA also provides advanced Research Instruments for the most prestigious laboratories in Universities, Governmental institutions and private companies in materials, geology, astrophysics, semiconductors and life sciences. The techniques includes EPMA, SIMS and Atom Probe*.
CAMECA is the recognized world leader for dedicated SIMS instruments (more than 400 installed) and EPMA instruments (more  than 600 installed) and works closely with leading Universities and research centers. The company's strategy is to focus on high-end instruments that offer the best technical performance in their specialized fields.

CAMECA's headquarters are based in Gennevilliers near Paris, France. CAMECA designs, manufactures, installs and services its equipments under ISO 9001 certification. Facilities such as clean room environment, UHV cleaning, modern tools such as CAD systems, computer networks and electron optics simulation make CAMECA a state of the art company.

CAMECA moved in July 2006 to a brand new modern factory in Gennevilliers, 5km North-East from its former plant in Courbevoie where CAMECA had been  located between 1957 and 2006.

CAMECA has over 1.000 intruments installed worldwide. To provide better service to its customers, the company has set up:
- a subsidiary in the USA, located in Connecticut with sale and service engineers throughout the US. 
- a subsidiary in Japan, located in Tokyo with sale and service people in Tokyo and Osaka.
- a subsidiary in Germany, located in Munich with sales and service.
- a subsidiary in Korea, located in Suwon for sales and service.
- a subsidiary in Taiwan, located in Hsin Chu for sales and service.
- a subsidiary in the UK for after-sale service .

A network of agents handles sales and after-sale service, worldwide.
