ICP-MS iron isotope ratio in rocks
The iron isotope systematics of the Kiglapait layered intrusion, Labrador, Canada
With its high-resolution capacity, the Nu Plasma 1700 Multi Collector ICP-MS is the ideal instrument for high-precision analyses of iron isotope ratios, particularly those analyzed in rocks crystallized from a magma chamber. Here, within the rocks of the Kiglapait Layered Intrusion, iron isotope data provide important clues about the processes that occur during the formation and evolution of systems akin to those that form valuable ore deposits. This project is underway in the Pacific Centre for Isotopic and Geochemical Research at the University of British Columbia (Postdoctoral Fellow Dr Laura Bilenker).
