Canada’s Minister of Defence, Harjit Sajjan, recently visited the Pacific Centre for Isotopic and Geochemical Research (PCIGR) to announce more than $42 million in funding to support fundamental research at the University of British Columbia.

During the visit to PCIGR, director – Prof. Dominique Weis, introduced Mr Sajjan to Nu’s Plasma 1700 high-resolution multi-collector ICP-MS instrument. The first of its kind in Canada, the 1700 is part of an advanced suite of instruments manufactured by Nu for the lab.

The 1700 was of particular interest to Mr Sajjan due to the capabilities of the high-resolution instrument for potential use in military application.
